Divisions and Rules:

Empty Hand Forms

Traditional or "Contemparary" forms only. No "Extreme or Gymnastic" techniques allowed in this division. Forms will be judged on Execution, Balance, Power and Presentation.

Musical or Open Forms

All techniques will be allowed in this division, with or without music. Judging will be the same as Empty Hand forms. This is also the musical weapons division.

Point Sparring

All Kicks and Punches must have good control to legal target areas.
Legal Target Areas:Head, Chest, Sides of body above belt. Punches to legal areas are scored 1pt. Kicks to legal target areas are scored 2pts. Mandatory equipement Foam style sparring gear, head ,feet and hands. Mouthpiece is required. Groin protection is a must for all male participants. No MMA Gear will be allowed! No Exceptions....

Continuous Sparring

This division consists of a 90 second match (17 & under) or a 2 minute match (18 & above). Controlled Punching and Kicking. No Punches allowed to Head. Kicks are allowed to head. All techiques must be above belt. 3 Judges will score on = Who controls the fight, number of techniques landed with control. At end of match majority vote from judges to determine winner. Ties will be decided by an extra 45 second round or until a decision can be made.

Traditional Weapons Forms

No music is allowed in this division. Judging will be the same as above forms competitions. Dropping or breaking of weapon during performance of kata will be a disqualification of competitor.

Self-Defense

Beginners
Intermediate
Advanced
Black Belt
Competitors will have 2 minutes to demonstrate his or her self-defense set. You may do as many or as few techniques as you wish in a 2 minute time period. Judging will be the same as forms competition.
Competitors must provide thier own Uke (partner)
